Fusion 7 for Mac

This interview sums up very nicely where Fusion 7 is headed under the direction of Blackmagic. This is significant for a few reasons. First and foremost, Blackmagic has already managed to democratize high-end color grading software by offering Resolve for free.

  3. After purchase of Eyeon, BMD releases free Fusion 7, Fusion Studio for $ - postPerspective;

It's safe to say that color correction capabilities that only ten years ago would have required tens of thousands of dollars in software and hardware can now be accomplished with a free piece of software on a laptop. That's an impressive precedent, so it's entirely possible that Fusion 7 will do the same for same for node-based compositing if the filmmaking community adopts it as they have Resolve.

FUSION 6 crack is found for mac

For independent and low-budget filmmakers, and for folks just wanting to learn these techniques, those prices are just too far out of reach. With Fusion 7, however, many of those same capabilities will be available to everyone, either for free or for a fraction of the cost of other high-end softwares. And n ow that a Mac version is imminent, the user base of Fusion 7 will only continue to grow larger and more diverse.

There's no exact word yet on when Fusion for Mac will officially hit the market, but Blackmagic will be showing off a working version at NAB, so it's safe to assume that we may very well see it within the next six months. We'll see though in what capacity it'll make its way to most peoples workflow. I guess it all depends on the UX and capabilities. I'm thinking they will use this software as part of a bundle that comes with their cameras.

A lite and a professional version maybe.

Not a bad strategy. Im super krunk to learn this software! Hell Yes!!! I beg to dissagree, After Effect isn't safe especially given the reputation of Black Magic with software. AE is mostly used in motion graphics, broadcast work and in a technically limited role on shows like Gone Girl doing split screens etc. Although as with Resolve, if you buy Fu for Windows you can download the Mac version for free when it comes. BMD are very savvy offering low cost software to the masses which must be accompanied by additional hardware BMD hardware if you want to use it commercially.

The major restriction with the free version of Fusion will be the inability to use third party plug-ins.

Fusion 8 User Manual

We have Fusion 6 and many hundreds of dollars worth or plug-ins - so the new price of the Fusion 7 upgrade, though we can well do with 6, is almost tempting. This is probably the reason for the third party plug-in limitation in the free version. Great piece of software isn't it? Unless you work for a large company where you can just pass the assets to the person in charge of that.

Fusion 8.2 now on Mac/Windows/Linux, for free

But the beauty of Fusion over Nuke was always that it is much better suited for the one-man-band and small boutiques. And I doubt any other hardware will be supported besides BMD at this point. But if you already run Resolve for serious grading you basically already got it all covered hardware and workstation wise I would say.

But I'm not sure hardware sales is the point this time around. At least not directly. Although BMD can sell some extra cards to new Fusion users, I have the feeling that the main reason they bought it is to have the technology itself rather than to sell hardware with Fusion alone. They already have Resolve for that. I think they have bigger plans. I see Resolve becoming like Autodesk Smoke in the very near future. Just much more powerful and involved.

I think BMD wants to make Resolve into an one stop shop for post-production and will eventually roll Fusion and everything else into Resolve or a new app all together, where you will have editing, color grading, compositing and possibly even 3D graphics in one application. Even though Fusion has great 3D graphics support it's not the same as having an actual 3D package. The question is just how far BMD wants to go.

It's obvious they have plans of "world domination". But are they after live action production only or CGI too? Only images or audio as well? Time will tell. Last Edit: 4 years, 11 months ago by ArteD.
